Submission done and plans made, again

Finally, we have managed to write about 6500 words for the IJS. Now, again, it’s time for being patient.

In the meantime, we have implemented first steps for our plan for the next research steps (which will, of course, not be given away here and now…). Some alternative options have been identified so far. So, now I am patient and keep on being patient.

DRY principle: “Don’t repeat yourself” means to avoid redundancy or at least to scale down redundancy. Not only, but often used in programming.

Ah, that’s not too easy. Usually, in Germany people call it also “Feature”. But if you are keen on using a proper German word, try “Merkmal”.

How can you support the understanding between people and a machine? What is the difference between popular software and slow sellers? I’ve given a short theoretical introduction to usability at the “dib Jahrestagung 2008″. I’ve explained what usability is all about, what a user interface is and what for usability is worthwhile. During the workshop, the participants did have a go to some methods for improving ergonomics and usability of software.
